Fueling Transformation – My Experience at the ALPFA Convention

This year I was honored to attend the 2017 Association of Latino Professionals for America (ALPFA) Convention in Las Vegas! It was an amazing experience and an incredible opportunity to connect with fellow professionals and aspiring recent graduates looking to make a positive impact in the Latino community.

The overall theme throughout the convention was around developing and promoting Latino talent which builds stronger leaders and empowers them to thrive in their careers. The call to action was for current leaders and young professionals to invest in the upcoming generations to fuel transformation in corporate America.

CPE sessions provided attendees with panel discussions around core business functions like Compliance, Audit and Tax, but they also gave us the opportunity to attend Fireside Chats around Inclusion and Diversity and developing Employee Resource Groups at your current work place.

ALPFA also held power sessions around their most popular program, the Women of ALPFA. This year they invited 4 of the 50 Most Powerful Latina Executives of 2017 by Fortune Magazine. These women gave a panel discussion about their path to success, career advice to young professionals and their commitment to furthering I&D initiatives not only at ALPFA but also within their own organizations.
