Life at DHG – These are a Few of My Favorite Things
It’s hard to believe that I’m coming up on one year of employment at DHG. I remember my interview like it was yesterday, and the first few weeks, when I was meeting so many people and learning so much about DHG and public accounting. While there are many great things I’ve come to love about DHG, there are a few “perks” that really make a difference in my Life Beyond Numbers.
Flexible Hours – Recently, the flexibility of my job has proven to be especially beneficial. I’m getting married in April (the day after Tax Day – go figure!) and I’ve been able to work with my team to manage deadlines and responsibilities so that I can leave in the middle of the day if need be or come in a little early/leave a little early for meetings with wedding vendors. This flexibility has made the planning process so much easier and much more enjoyable.
Workday Variety – One of the things I love most about my role is that I get to work with so many different people across the firm – from HR and Talent Acquisition professionals to accountants, auditors and consultants. Every day is different. I love the variety of projects and having the opportunity to help the firm communicate from all angles and to many different audiences.
Passion Projects – People and philanthropy are two top priorities for DHG and its leaders. We have an online giving platform that encourages and supports our individual passions and our DHG communities. I can easily log on to the site and find a volunteer opportunity that speaks to me. Or, if I want my DHG family to rally around a cause that’s important to me, I can create a campaign page on the site to collect donations or ask for fellow volunteers. It’s not often that you find a company that wholeheartedly supports your passion projects outside the office.
